"The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed."

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Strike out the books you have no intention of ever reading, or were forced to read at school and hated.
5) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them ;-)

8th-Apr-2008 05:25 pm - So who is the final Cylon? - I

To mark the start of the final series of Battlestar Galactica next week on Sky One , the Radio Times reproduces the cast photo based upon Leonardo Da Vinci's 'The Last Supper' that has been around for a few months now. And of course there is not just the picture but some hints about what might or might not be in store for the characters in the picture from BSG supremo Ronald D Moore.

Which member of UNIT are you? (classic Doctor Who)

You are Surgeon Lieutenant Harry Sullivan. You are very brave, but also a bit clumsy at times.

24th-Mar-2008 02:29 pm - Bank Holidays - Blah!

I am bored, this is not an unusual occurence as regards bank holidays.

Would it really be all that bad if the goverment were to, instead of creating more bank holidays as called for by various parties, abolish a few (or indeed all) and instead let British employees have an annual entitlement of five or six weeks holiday as opposed to the present system to which we are moving to, of four weeks plus bank holidays*.

And having worked on Friday, there is the inconvienience  to those that work on bank holidays - at least on Good Friday there is a Sunday bus service, unlike Boxing Day - but the fact that I had to be at work at 8.00am and that the first bus would get me there for 10.15am meant walking to work was needed.  And back when checking the bus timetable it transpired that the normal Sunday evening service did not apply to bank holidays.

I daresay that such inconvieniences are an arguemnet for better regulated bus services and me owning some form of motorised transport (or at the very least a bicycle) and not arguements to remove fixed holidays from the many. Even if it would stop the grumblings of the few.

*I am well aware working in the cleaning industry that until the changeover last year that it was quite common practice to roll the eight bank holdays into the four weeks annual leave.

21st-Mar-2008 04:11 pm - Ideal Superhero Date quiz
So apparently my ideal Superhero date is ...

With Psyclocke and X-23 contenders too, Kitty Pryde would have been nice.
26th-Feb-2008 07:58 pm - Ten Rambling thoughts on the letter Q
Snapesbabe laid down the challenge, compile an entry on ten things you like all starting with the letter Q. Yes, the letter Q - those Yorkshire lasses are indeed 100 per cent evil minx.

So...

Q )

And at this point, I really do think I have to hoist up the white flag and admit defeat in this challenge.

Via Snapesbabe, a meme in which one has to answer each question with a three word answer - no more, no less, just three words.

19th-Feb-2008 07:12 pm - Some ramblings on 'Being Human'

Watched the BBC3 pilot, 'Being Human', written by Toby Whithouse it was a rather unusual spin on the twentysomething flatshare genre. Mitchell is the cool, lazy one(but he can iron his own shirts), George is the plain, boring one and Annie is the lass. But they are also respectively a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost.

18th-Feb-2008 06:03 pm - 2000AD attire for March 17th

Think I will get one of those! Though the new black Judge Dredd one is not bad, nt really too keen on the colour of the Strontium Dog T-shirt. And I want a 'Be Pure! Be Vilgiant! Behave!' T-shirt, please Mister Thaarg?
